Mrs. Baltos' Kindergarten

We have been learning and doing SO much this month!  We have learned the letters, L, I, T, and O.  We have learned the popcorn words (sight words) I, like, see, am, the.  We are learning to sort objects into groups by size, color, shape, and number of objects (like number of button holes in a button).  We are also practicing counting to 100!  Help your child at home find the popcorn words they have learned and to find the letters in books and on signs. We have also started centers!  This is a time where students play literacy and math games to help them learn.  Our big news!  We released 3 butterflies!  Below are pictures from when we released our butterflies. We had a great first week of school!  Students learned our three school rules.  Be Safe, Be Respectful,  and Be responsible.  We learned that we can be safe, be kind to others, and pick up our things. We have started to learn our daily routines!  Thank you for returning the student's Red folders!  Once, I have Internet permissions signed, I will start uploading some photos from our day. This next week, we will be learning about caterpillars and practicing centers.  We are working on writing our names, drawing pictures of our selves and others, the letters L, I, & T and the "popcorn words" (sight words) I, see, & the. Students will get to take library books home next week.  Our library is on Thursdays, so don't forget to send them back to school!  Also, we have gym on Fridays.  Please have your child wear sneakers!
